Denver headquartered mining company seeks an Engineer / Projects Manager for
its Advanced Mining Solutions Group in Gillette, Wyoming.
Salary: $85-90K, plus 10+% annual bonus, plus up to 20% discretionary bonus,

Job Purpose:
This is an important new growth program for the company through the application
of technology and knowledge that will improve productivity for the company's
clients.
Profitability of this program will be based on the selected candidate's ability
to deliver results and measure the financial impact on the client's business.
The Advanced Mining Solutions (AMS) Program will require a change in culture
from a "products-focused" culture to a "service and solutions" approach.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the company's existing technology and IP is utilized to maximize
the value to clients and to the Corporation.
* Investigate new outside technology that could potentially contribute to the
AMS effort.
* Introduce and utilize existing and new technologies that are critical to the
success of agreed programs as appropriate.
* Conceptualize and drive the development of internal AMS technology.
* Work closely with key clients to create opportunities with emphasis in the
AMS area.
* Identify and develop opportunities with clients into agreed projects that
deliver measurable financial value to clients and to the Corporation.
* Manage agreed programs in close cooperation with client personnel to make
sure complete implementation is realized.
* Provide technical support to key clients as requested by the Group Manager.
* Identify opportunities to improve customer explosive performance and the
Corporation's profitability.
* Investigate and resolve product and/or application related issues with key
clients.
* Document and present successes of AMS.
* Promote concept of services and solutions approach to the business, to
potential clients, and to industrial societies.
* Perform work within an assigned budget.
Requirements:
* Must have a BS degree in Geosciences Engineering or higher.
* Must have 15 or more years of relevant experience.
* Must have broad-based knowledge of explosives and initiation systems,
blasting applications, and mining methods across all industry sectors.
* Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and
economics.
* Must have strong technical writing and reporting skills.
* Proven management and leadership skills at all levels.
* Demonstrated ability to interact with customers from miners to engineering
and operations staffs to senior management.
* Must have credibility to lead and motivate change within the customer
infrastructure.
* Absolutely must be a results-oriented conceptual thinker.
* Must be able to take initiative in order to lead the team and hold people
accountable for results.
* This positions will require considerable travel, extended daily shifts,
weekend hours, and outside working conditions.
