Question:
If anyone has the old webpage I had on this many years ago
I'd appreciate seeing it again.
The facts as I recall are that the name "Galactic Resources"
was one of the corporate holding companies that controlled
a gold mine in colorado, which currently goes by another name.
Answer:
This gold mine used a new cheap way to extract gold from
ores that wernt worth dealing with before... it was the
first one to use the "Heap Leach pit method"
Which is basically, you tear ouot all the ore, grind it up
and then set these spray heads on it, and spray it for a months
with cyanide... which binds to the gold and then the cyanide
enriched with gold was processed....
There were a few problems....
The leach process also extracted and made soluble in water
tremendous quntities of toxic heavy metals... but this was solved by
lining a huge a pit and collecting this nasty stuff....
Well... the Galactic resources part had some big time
scientologists involved including either The Feschback Brothers
or a guy whose name sounds like Freidlan... or both..
I wasn't on the net years ago. But duz the Australian (about 6', dark hair) who wuz
runnin around in red sweats trying to borrow money from EU bankers to do this mining
on some land his Dad left him in Australia have anythin to do with it? He was "on
lines" at the time (mid 80's) but also OFF, as I recall. He had a Galactic Co
something or other write-up, sed something about getting hints from BE, had a copy
of BE with some parts of it flashed - sound familiar?
This would be Robert Friedland of Galactic Resources (as well as a dizzying
array of other corporate shells and organizations)? I want to make very clear
this is who you mean as otherwise such accusations could be libellous.
Robert Friedland is an old hippie ex-friend of Steve Jobs. He used to hang out
with Wavy Gravy and the like but they do not think very much of him now.
Is he a Scientologist?
Scientologist George Chelekis touted a mining company called BRE-X, which caused
the greatest scandal in the VSE's long history as the scam capital of the world.
Short-sellers the Feshbach brothers were also associated with this scam capital.
Galactic Resources had a deal of some sort with BRE-X, a small-cap (ie scam)
stock which rose stratospherically on news of them discovering a large gold
deposit. Shortly thereafter the geologist who did the findings mysteriously
fell out of a helicopter (yeah right) and the whole deal turned out to be a
total pump-and-dump scam a la American Technologies Group. It almost
single-handedly toasted the whole Canadian penny-stock market. Lots of people
bought in to BRE-X high and then watched it turn into dust, while the promoters
of the stock with their "hot tips" had bought in low and were selling high to
the people they were hyping it to.
